WALKING WITH NAOMI: AS TOLD BY RUTH

This month we featured Barbara A Robinson as our first Naomi! Now that you've met her we would like to introduce to you her Ruth. Her name is Ruby. We interviewed Ruby to learn more about the impact of her journey with and her relationship with her Naomi.

R.E.: How did you meet your Naomi?

Ruby: I met Mrs. Barbara at Living Word Christian Center in March of 2000.

R.E.: When did you know in your heart that she was the one to enter a journey with?

Ruby: As I began my journey as a baby Christian, Mrs. Barbara extended her kindness as well as knowledge and wisdom. She demonstrated a strong character as a God-fearing woman. Her spirit has a powerful impact about the word of God. In which she has a genuine faith as my spiritual role model who continues to influence me. We shared many similarities, therefore, I instantly became her Christian God-daughter, as she continues to encourage me to develop Christian values. I was able to be myself and express my strengths and weakness as we built a bond on a strong foundation.

R.E.: What life lessons have you learned from this relationship?

Ruby: I learned from the relationship how to develop a godly character, and how to have a humble attitude that submits to God. I experienced true love from a mother as well as compassion, and gained a profound sisterhood. Mrs. Barbara has been a great asset to my life, she prays for me through the ups and downs as I face issues in this thing called life.
